Donation for children with cancer

Dr. Walser Dental supports the "Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V." (support association for children with cancer) in Freiburg i. Br. with a donation.

Since its foundation, the association has set itself the goal of doing everything possible to help children with cancer and their families. It is an interplay of many components that make up the chances of recovery for each individual child. For example, research must be pushed forward, medical and personnel care must be improved, but above all, families who have to fear for the life of their child must be supported and cared for. All donations received by the association and all efforts of the association have therefore flowed into the parents' home and the association projects since its foundation 40 years ago.

The University Children's Hospital in Freiburg is moving, but the closeness to the parents' house should remain: That is why the sponsoring association decided already in 2013 to build a new parents' house - again in the direct neighborhood of the new children's hospital. The prework and planning for the new building have been in progress since 2013.

With a total of 45 family rooms, the new parents' house will be even slightly larger than the existing house. Above all, the children's campus will be expanded, creating enjoyable play and recreation areas for every age group, as well as an attractive outdoor area. The house will again have a bistro, roof terrace, community kitchens and lounges, and will offer families everything they need for a long stay. The first floor will contain the playroom, as well as the reception and social services. Construction began at the end of 2020, with completion scheduled for the end of 2022.

The construction of the new parents' house is the biggest challenge in the history of the association. The new parents' house, like all other association activities and previous projects, is financed 100% by donations. Therefore, the association is strongly dependent on additional donations!
