Walser dental matrices included in the course series ‘Composite design with Dr Martin von Sontagh’

28/02/2025

Ivoclar is organising a series of courses in Vienna together with Dr Martin von Sontagh.

The master course in 4 modules takes place in Vienna. The dental course for composite restorations is supported by Dr Walser Dental. In the 1st module, techniques with Walser® dental matrices are demonstrated.

The experienced dentist Dr Martin von Sontagh leads the restoration courses. As a user of Walser dental matrices, he knows his way around very well. He impressively demonstrates the many advantages of the Walser matrix system with his presentations and convincing results.

Walser dental matrices are particularly suitable for self-adhesive filling materials and composite/resin fillings, as they form an ideal mould and seal the cavity floor, for example.

Composite design to the power of four - 1st module: Posterior fillings (aesthetic filling therapies)

In this 1st module, participants learn how to work minimally invasively with composite restorations.

Description of the course:

In addition to an effective layering protocol, the focus is on learning and working with various matrix techniques. In this way, all indications in the mouth can be mastered: from small Class I fillings to onlays, every possible type of restoration is practised on the model. For the perfect filling, a modern, reliable adhesive system is just as important as the right polymerisation light. We will cover the most practical systems and learn how to use them effectively.

However, it is not only fillings that can be produced with composite in an aesthetic and high-quality manner; repairs to existing ceramic and composite restorations are also often a good solution in order to treat the tooth structure gently. But how are they made? Be inspired by the wonderful world of modern composite therapy.

Course content:

  • Posterior fillings
  • Matrix techniques
  • Cervical fillings
  • Quadrant restoration
  • Stamp technique
  • Adhesive systems (adhesive protocol)
  • Polymerisation lamps
  • Ceramic repairs
  • Polishing protocol
